HOW to buy?
Remember to save glue and paper !
On the printable files there is an instruction
and guidehow to glue the figure together.
Also watch our videos
where we show you how to do it.
HOW IT WORKS?
We recommend printing files with graphics of figures on printer paper (A4 format) with a weight of +/- 160g.
The thicker the paper, the easier it is (it doesn't wrinkle from glue, it doesn't wrinkle when painting with paints).
We recommend sticking the printed elements onto technical block cards with a weight of 200-250g. This results in a total weight of approximately 400g (160g + 240g), which makes the work easier and ensures that the figure we glue will be stiff
and will not bend after coloring.
Additional items will also be needed:
• regular office glue stick approx. 40g
•scissors
•ruler 25-30cm
• paper creasing set*
The materials recommended by us are widely available in most stationery stores.
If they are not used 100% for creating our figures, they will definitely find another use at home.
We prefer to first assemble the figure and then color it, but you can also color it after printing, stick it
and assemble the figure from the already colored elements.
but one step at a time!
1. buy the figure(s) of your choice.
2. print the file(s) you receive (make sure your printer is set to the maximum print area).
3. from the printed cards, cut out the pieces adding 3-5 mm above the outline line. This way you save glue. An allowance of 3-5 mm will be needed to distribute the glue accurately.
4. Plan the arrangement of the elements on the technical block cards. In some cases, several elements will fit on one card. Find the most economical option and save paper.
5. grease the element with the graphic with glue and stick it on the technical block card. Then (while the glue is still on) cut out the shape along the contours, crease all the inside continuous lines with a creasing block*, fold and shape the piece accordingly. Do the rest of the elements in the same way.
6. Before gluing two pieces together, check that their graphics match.
7. always lubricate both parts to be joined with glue. You will get a slip which will make it easier to align the elements properly.
8. always press the surfaces together on both sides with the creasing block*.
Take your time. Be precise. If something doesn't work out, tear off the glued elements, apply glue again and correct it. Mask up imperfections with paint, a marker, a crayon.
What can't be improved? Don't worry, print the part you need again and start again.
*Creasing block - if you don't have one you can make one yourself, for example from a plastic ruler. Simply round off and smooth one corner. You can use e.g. a child's table knife etc. as a substitute.
